Steps to Obtain a Pennsylvania Real Estate License
Complete the two 30-hour pre-licensing courses, Real Estate Fundamentals and Real Estate Practice, online or in a classroom.
Register and take the official Real Estate Exam in Harrisburg.
Submit to the Real Estate Commission the Salesperson Initial License Application (SPOA 2102).

Steps to become a Certified Real Estate Appraiser
Have at a minimum an associate's degree from an accredited college or university
Take 200 hours of classroom appraisal curriculum
Aquire 2,500 hours of acceptable appraisal experience during a period of at least 24 months. At least half of those hours must be in the actual preparation of real estate appraisal reports, which includes physical inspections of the interior and exterior of the subject properties
- Submit to the State Board of Certified Real Estate Appraisers the application for certification as a real estate appraiser with documentation showing satisfaction of education and experience requirements
Take the exam.
