it mean? It means that REALTORS® realize the importance
of continuing education and have earned professional
designations to prove it. They are committed to sharpening
their skills and staying on top of the changing laws
and trends in the real estate industry to better serve
their customers and clients.
Below is a brief explanation of the various designations
to help you understand the expertise that goes along
with the letters behind a REALTORS® name.
ABR - Accredited Buyer Representative - A buyer's
agent represents the buyer in a real estate transaction
for a fee. The ABR is the only nationally recognized
designation for buyer's agents.
ALC - Accredited Land Consultant - They are recognized
as experts in land brokerage transactions of five
specialized types: farms and ranches, undeveloped
tracts of land, transitional land, subdivision and
wholesaling of lots, and site selection and assemblage
of land parcels.
CCIM - Certified Commercial Investment Member - CCIM's
are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage,
leasing, asset management, valuation and investment
analysis.
CRB - Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager - Real
estate brokerage owners and managers are ready to
meet the personal and professional challenges in brokerage
management with the CRB designation.
CRE - Counselor of Real Estate - REALTORS® with
the CRE designation are part of an international group
of recognized professionals who provide seasoned,
objective advice on property and land-related matters
to investors, builders and financial institutions.
Only 1,000 practitioners throughout the world carry
this designation.
CRS - Certified Residential Specialist - CRS designees'
complete advanced study in listing residential properties,
selling and investing. They meet established production
levels.
E-Pro - REALTORS® with the e-Pro designation
completed the industry's first comprehensive technology
certification program focusing on Internet marketing
and service.
GAA - General Accredited Appraiser - Certified general
appraisers complete education and experience beyond
what is required to obtain state certification.
GRI - Graduate of REALTOR® Institute - Members
involved in residential real estate add a solid base
of information to their practice with the REALTOR®
Institute program. The GRI designation is a mark of
distinction.
LTG - Leadership Training Graduate - This designation
provides recognition to professionals who excel in
career leadership through the dynamic combination
of education and experience.
RAA - Residential Accredited Appraiser - The RAA
designees have completed education and experience
beyond what is required to obtain state certification.
SIOR - Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS®
- SIOR designees are top producers in industrial and
office real estate brokerage. The society's mandatory
recertification assures clients of the designee's
excellence in the fast changing commercial brokerage
field.
